The current inclement weather claimed another victim when tomorrow's meeting at Down Royal was cancelled this morning but today's hurdle fixture at Fairyhouse has been given the green light.

A precautionary inspection was called for 8am due to an adverse weather weather forecast but the meeting goes ahead as scheduled with the first on a seven-race card at 1.25pm.

One note of caution is the tweet released by Fairyhouse Racecourse at 8.30am which reads "Racing goes ahead slight covering of snow but track raceable @Fairyhouse monitoring situation" Seabass will be a major attraction as last year's John Smith's Grand National third makes his eagerly awaited seasonal debut in the opening two-mile conditions hurdle.

There are plenty of other runners of note on the card including the likes of Defy Logic and Grey Monk in maiden hurdles.

Those arriving early for the races have the added bonus of the February NH Sale taking place just across the road at Tattersalls Ireland. The action gets underway in the sales ring at 10.30am.
