Saturday's meeting at Fairyhouse is under serious threat with officials already calling an inspection for mid-day tomorrow to determine whether the fixture can go ahead.

The meeting is scheduled to be run on the inside track at the County Meath venue but the course is currently unfit for racing with a covering of snow and freezing temperatures.

The forecast is to remain very cold over the next few days with Met Eireann predicting minimum temperatures tonight of around -4C and dipping as low as -7C on Friday night.

IHRB issued an update on twitter this morning stating:

"The track at @Fairyhouse is currently unfit for racing due to a covering of snow and frost overnight. There will be a 12pm inspection tomorrow (Friday) to determine if the fixture scheduled for Saturday 9th January 2021 can go ahead."
