Fairyhouse winner puts jam on it for Butler & the Bredwinners An across the cards double for a Piltown Co Kilkenny trainer is hardly newsworthy but that's not the case when it's achieved by Michael Butler, as distinct from Joseph O'Brien, and Wipeawayyourtears (13/2) completed the former's notable brace in the Kate O'Sullivan Memorial Handicap at Fairyhouse. As it happened, O'Brien had sent out three winners across the two domestic meetings this evening, but after Rion Rubette's identically-priced success at Gowran, Wipeawayyourtears led two furlongs out and stayed on well to account for Pebble Island by a length and a-half in the mile and a-half nightcap at the Co Meath venue.  It was a 55/1 double for Butler and the Bredwinner Syndicate as the daughter of Alkumait, placed on her two previous starts, proved too strong for her elders to record a first victory. "She had a couple of good runs coming here today. I think, obviously, the nice ground was a big help to her,” said winning rider Gavin Ryan. “She’s a lovely genuine filly and had a lovely light weight on her back. The race panned out lovely. “She should improve as well, I was very happy with her.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
