Falbrav and High Chaparral square up Stateside. They may have failed in a bid to have the result of the Irish Champion Stakes amended in an appeal heard at the Curragh yesterday, but the connections of Falbrav now have a further chance for revenge.Their multiple Group 1 victor renews rivalry with his Leopardstown conqueror, High Chaparral in the Breeders´ Cup Turf and it’s the view of bookmakers that the result will be different this time. The ten-furlong Classic run on dirt had been under consideration for Luca Cumani’s star, but the owners have opted for the Turf. The logic behind the decision was explained as ‘we would have been guessing on the dirt’.Of course High Chaparral won last year’s renewal of the event which was run at Arlington Park in Chicago. The meeting this weekend will take place at Santa Anita and Aidan O’Brien’s four-year-old is only fourth in the market with Paddy Power bookmakers. Sulamani is favourite at 2/1, followed by Falbrav at 5/2, Storming Home at 3/1 whilst High Chaparral is now 4/1 from 5/1 in a tight betting heat.
