Fallon Looking Forward To Yeats

Kieren Fallon is looking forward to being reunited with staying revelation Yeats in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh on September 16.

The five-year-old strolled to an easy success under Mick Kinane in the two-mile ABN Amro Goodwood Cup yesterday, confirming the impression he had created in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

Aidan O'Brien said in the immediate aftermath that his five-year-old would head next for the Group One contest over a mile and three-quarters, in which he was fourth, beaten less than two lengths, 12 months ago.

'Yeats was always a very good horse and he was very impressive in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last season. He beat a Japan Cup winner in Alkaased that day,' Fallon said.

'He won over two and a half miles at Ascot, two miles at Goodwood and Aidan has mentioned the Irish St Leger next for him which is over a mile and six, so he is a very versatile horse.

'He goes on any ground and there are a lot of options for him,' the rider told At The Races.

'He should have won the St Leger last year, I just couldn't get out when I wanted to, but he's a better horse this year.'
