Fallon Plumps For Ivan

Kieren Fallon has opted to partner Ivan Denisovich from Aidan O'Brien's three runners in the St James's Palace Stakes on the opening day of Royal Ascot.

The former champion's decision means Johnny Murtagh will ride Marcus Andronicus, with Colm O'Donoghue on Arabian Prince.

Irish 2000 Guineas winner Araafa heads a field of 11 for the Group One contest over a mile.

Jeremy Noseda's three-year-old claimed a two-length success from O'Brien's George Washington at the Curragh, where Decado and Mick Channon's Yasoodd finished third and fourth respectively.

That pair reoppose, while Nicolas Clement's highly-rated colt Stormy River travels over the Channel following his close third in the French Guineas.

Channon will also saddle German 2000 Guineas winner Royal Power, with the Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained Aeroplane, Italian Derby sixth Yarqus and David Simcock's Metropolitan Man completing the line-up.
