Fallon draws first blood at Royal Ascot Irish jockey Kieren Fallon drew first blood at Royal Ascot`s racing extravaganza today when steering Medicean to a comfortable victory in the opening Queen Anne Stakes.Fallon got a dream run up on the inside on the 11-2 shot to win by an easy length from Swallow Flight with Arkadian Hero a neck back in third. It was a welcome change of luck for trainer Sir Michael Stoute whose star filly Petrushka was injured earlier this month because of injury.Stoute`s stable star Golan was beaten into second place by Galileo in the Epsom Derby while Queen Elizabeth`s Flight of Fancy was an unlucky runner-up in the Epsom Oaks.Stoute was worried that Medicean might by anchored by a five pound penalty for his latest win in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury. But his fears proved unfounded.'He is a very laid back and relaxed individual,' Stoute told reporters after starting the big meeting of the year in dream style.'He really quickened and won the race speedily,' said the clearly relieved trainer who may now aim Medicean at Goodwood`s Sussex Stakes.
