Family Fun & much more at Fairyhouse

The three-day Fairyhouse Easter meeting gets underway today with entertainment promised for all the family, and the highlight on track is the Powers Gold Cup - part of a seven race programme beginning at 1.50pm.

Billed as Family Fun Day, the racecourse gates open at 11am and the Children's Corner offers a wide variety of amusement for younger racegoers including bouncy castles, face painting and the Pirates' Cove children's train from mid-day.

For racing enthusiasts, the parade of all 13 Irish-trained Cheltenham Festival winners at 3pm is a must with Champion Hurdler Hurricane Fly and Queen Mother Champion Chase hero Sizing Europe of special interest.

Sporting fans are also well catered for with the Irish Cricket Team, fresh from their World Cup victory over England, in attendance. A Formula 1 racing car simulator is another unique attraction.

Entry is €20 for adults, with OAP's and students charged just €10. As on all three days of the Festival, children under 16 are free.
