Feane looking forward to stepping Vera's Secret up in class Vera's Secret will aim to enhance her unbeaten Leopardstown record when she takes a step up in class for the Group 1 Matron Stakes on day one of Irish Champions Festival this weekend. The six-year-old mare has won four of her 10 starts and was last seen getting up by a neck in a Group 3 at Foxrock in July. Trainer Johnny Feane said: "She is in great order, touch wood. "She is (unbeaten in Leopardstown), but it is a big step up in class. She's a good filly and is in great order. We have another six days to get her there, so we'll see. "She is ground versatile enough. She ran well in Tipperary (fifth in Listed class on soft ground) last year at the end of a hard-enough campaign. "She has two Group 3s, fourth in a Group 2 this year, and she will run well. She is a good mare and if we could squeeze a length or two out of her, you never know." Vera's Secret's two Group 3 successes came at Leopardstown in addition to a victory in a valuable fillies' handicap at last season's Irish Champions Festival.
