Fellowes Sweet on Solera chance with China In Your Hand Charlie Fellowes has his fingers crossed China In Your Hand can show she is Group class in the Newsells Park Stud Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. The Cracksman filly was an eyecatching third on her racecourse debut at Doncaster in June before breaking her maiden over course and distance at HQ last month. The Newmarket handler has now stepped China In your Hand into Group Three company, with a potential trip to France to come in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day at ParisLongchamp. Fellowes said: “She’s a filly we’ve always liked. She’s unbelievably uncomplicated. She came in with a glowing report and has done nothing to put me off. “She was a bit unlucky on debut. She just got a bit disorganised and ran out of time, but was clearly the eyecatcher in the race and she duly stepped forward at Newmarket and won really nicely in a race that’s working out well. “We think she’s up to this step up in grade. I think it’s always a big positive that she’s won over course and distance at Newmarket. It’s a funny track and takes a bit of knowing so that’s encouraging and she seems to have come forward again, so we’re hopeful of a big run. “She’s owned by an owner-breeder who has got the mare so hopefully she can go and run a big race. “I have put her in the Boussac in France. If she went and won on Saturday I’d have felt really annoyed if we hadn’t put her in there. We think she’ll stay a mile. “She’s by Cracksman, but until you run in a race like the one on Saturday you don’t quite know where you stand so this will tell us a lot about where we’re going after this. I hope she’s stakes class, I think she’s stakes class. We’ll find out on Saturday.” China In Your Hand will face six rivals on the July course, with Charlie Appleby’s Graceful Song putting her unbeaten record on the line. Appleby told the Godolphin website: “Graceful Song has mentally come forward since winning her maiden over this course and trip. “She is coming up against a couple of more-experienced fillies this time, but this looks a good spot to test her at this level.” Nuit d’Eclair runs for Kevin Philippart De Foy, while Jane Chapple-Hyam has Harlequin Sky. The field is completed by Sir Mark Prescott’s Martinet, Sugar Yes Please from the Eve Johnson Houghton stable and William Stone’s Tie A Navyribbon.
