Trainer Philip Fenton hopes to get Last Instalment and Dunguib back on a racecourse by Christmas.

The high-class duo have been sidelined through injury for some time now, with Last Instalment having been out of action since he won the Grade One Dr PJ Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown in February 2012.

Dunguib's absence stretches back even further, with his last appearance in the 2011 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Although a novice chasing campaign had been considered for Dunguib before he suffered yet another setback last year, Fenton said the 10-year-old will now remain over hurdles.

"Last Instalment is back in work and the other one (Dunguib) is very close to returning," said the Co Tipperary handler.

"They've been off the track for such a long time with serious leg injuries that it wouldn't be fair to start thinking about a plan at the moment.

"Dunguib will definitely stay over hurdles - he's too old to be going over fences - and might return around Christmas time.

"He (Last Instalment) won't be turned out on a racecourse until then as well.

"Hopefully they both stay safe and sound."
