Fever could make chasing debut on Saturday Last season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle hero Champagne Fever could make his chasing debut in the Connexus Communications Beginners Chase at Punchestown on Saturday. The Willie Mullins-trained grey beat My Tent Or Your and Jezki in what was regarded as one of the hottest Festival openers for many a year, but he looked below his best when beaten at the Punchestown Festival a few weeks later. Already ante-post favourite for the Arkle back at Cheltenham in March, if he takes up this option he will be running over two and a half miles. He is one of 19 entries along with stablemate Ballycasey, the classy novice hurdler Our Vinnie, Dessie Hughes' Si C'Etat Vrai and Colm Murphy's Marlbrook.
