Willie Mullins has five of the nine entries for the Grade 1 Guinness 00 Faugheen Novice Chase at Limerick on December 28 headed by the highly regarded Final Demand

The champion trainer has won the last two renewals of this 2m5f race with Gaelic Warrior and Impaire Et Passe and Final Demand is likely to go off a short-priced favourite following an impressive chase debut at Navan last month.

The Mullins entry also includes Cheltenham Festival winner Jimmy Du Seuil who made a winning start over fences at Fairyhouse while Kitzbuhel Predators Gold and Gold Dancer could also feature for the Closutton team.

McManus Swoops for Oscars Fancy

Oscars Fancy represents former champion Flat apprentice turned trainer Connor King and has been acquired by JP McManus since landing the Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase at Punchestown last month.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained The Big Westerner winner of the Grade 2 Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Land Rover Novice Hurdle at Limerick last Christmas, filled the runner-up spot behind Jimmy Du Seuil when switched to fences at Fairyhouse while The Lonesome Boatman and Western Walk complete the line-up at the forfeit stage.

Festival Fashion and Fun

Beyond the four-day racing schedule, Limerick's Christmas Festival is renowned for its lively social scene. Over the four days (December 26-29), racegoers can enjoy live music and entertainment in the Big Top and Grandstand.

Fashion takes centre stage on day two (December 27) with the Holman Lee Agency presenting the 'Most Stylish Lady' competition, offering prizes worth €1500 sponsored by Lyons of Limerick and Keane’s Jewellers along with goodie bags sponsored by Brown Thomas for all the finalists.

TV personality Meghann Scully will be in attendance on the day to talk all things fashion.

Racing presenter and influencer Frankie Foster will be on course on Sunday December 28 to mingle with racegoers and provide analysis on the Christmas Festival showpiece, the Grade 1 Guinness 00 Faugheen Novice Chase.

The family fun day on Monday December 29 invites families to enjoy a festive day filled with a host of free activities such as play areas, carnival rides, face painting and kiddie characters by Giggles Entertainment.
