Well-fed Bon Viveur (13/8) tasted success for the first time today, landing Tramore’s opening 2026 Annual Badge At Tramore Racecourse Maiden Hurdle for champion trainer Willie Mullins and his family.

An €85,000 2023 Derby Sale purchase, the son of Flemensfirth carries the colours of Jackie Mullins and having finished third on bumper debut last March, today reappeared wearing a first-time tongue-tie when racing prominently before eventually scoring by four lengths from Youneedabitofluck .

The low-lying sun had resulted in the hurdles in the home straight being omitted from the race and afterwards the trainer’s son, jockey Patrick Mullins reported “that was good although I was actually cursing when the hurdles were taken out because he jumps really well. He did it well.

Tom Cooper's horse (favourite and third-placed Khmer had a fair level of form and I think he'll improve from it. Jumping fences is what I'll be looking forward to with him and he is for sale."
