First double for Nash as Busy finally wins over fences

On his tenth start over fences Your Busy finally got his head in front where in counts in the Eventus Beginners Chase, giving his trainer James Nash his first ever double.

Running in the colours of Munster and Ireland Rugby star Ronan O'Gara, the son of Anshan had two hurdle wins to his name both of which came during the summer of last year.

Since switching to the bigger obstacles he has been disappointing but was placed four times and finished second just last Sunday at Ballinrobe behind Gala Dancer.

Today he took up the lead three out. He then jumped left at the next and was joined there by Mr Nosie The pair then battled all the way home from there with Your Busy just getting on top close home to win by a length and a half. Hily Distinguished at 14/1 completed the placings a further eight lengths back in third for his trainer Mark Fagan with Davy Condon aboard.

The winner opened at 9/4 this morning but drifted out to 4/1 at the off. The runner-up Mr Nosie was returned the 9/4 favourite, having also drifted from his morning price of 13/8.

Winning trainer James Nash said afterwards: "Ronan (O'Gara) is in mighty form after that. He couldn't be here today as he is at a birthday.

"He was disappointing considering we thought he had good potential. He wants quick ground and I can't think of anything else to blame for his poor runs other than the ground.

"Alan Crowe rode him the last day and he didn't handle the ground at Ballinrobe even thought it wasn't that soft.

"He jumped fantastic today because of the ground. The plan in the early days was the four miler at the Cheltenham Festival and that could still be a possibility.

"That was Davy’s (Russell) first winner for me."
