Five Zeros (10/3) and Amy Jo Hayes saw off all the challengers in the apprentice handicap at Down Royal.

The five-year-old mare made virtually all over this extended mile and a half but was challenged at the business end by both Storm Steps and Dinamine

To her credit she refused to yield and clung on by a nose from Dinamine (9/1) on her inner. Storm Steps (9/2) was half a length further back on her outer.

Trainer Nigel Slevin's sister, Frances, said: "Amy gave her a peach. She was stepping up (in trip) so we are delighted. She sticks it out.

"My son, Camillus, rides her out every day."

Trainer Slevin led the horse up.
