On his second start over fences, Seskin Flash (15/2) landed the beginners' chase at Downpatrick for trainer Philip Dempsey and jockey Donagh Meyler.

After tracking the leaders, the Workforce gelding challenged between front-running favourite The Electrical Kid and Sophia Rose at the last. Soon in front, the hooded six-year-old went away up the hill to beat the latter by three and a half lengths.

The winner had scored over hurdles here in March and was last seen when fourth on chasing debut at Tramore the following month.

Dempsey said: "It was a lovely ride. He can be a bit free and I suppose the horses he was behind maybe weren't up to much or whatever. He just got into it probably a bit sooner than we hoped, but he was good.

"He obviously likes it around here. Donagh said he jumped very well.

"We bought him off people down in Thurles and we let him off for a while after Tramore. Onwards and upwards, hopefully."
