Flidais relished the step up in trip when running out an impressive winner of the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary.

John Ryan’s mare travelled strongly to lead going to the second last and the 9/2 shot soon settled matters under Michael Kenneally.

She galloped on strongly from the last to post an eight-length winning margin in the two-mile-seven contest.

The winning trainer said afterwards:- “Stepping up to (nearly) three miles is what she needed.

“She’s out a 12-time winning mare (in France) and her half-brother made €150,000 at the sales last year so she’s a well-bred filly.

“The trips have been a bit short for her and three miles has brought out a huge improvement.”
