The money was shovelled on to Stronger Than Me in the Leopardstown betting ring and no doubt wheelbarrows were the order of the day to pick up the winnings as he thundered home in the mile and a quarter handicap at Leopardstown.

He was backed at all rates from 7/1 down to 9/2 second favourite on the off. Foley brought him with a withering run in the final furlong of this ultra-competitive contest to cut down his rivals and score by a length and a quarter for trainer Bill Farrell.

There was a bunch finish in behind to keep the handicapper happy. Dolce N Karama (20/1) for Pat Shanahan and Colm O’Donoghue picked up second-placed money in front of Show Court (12/1) and Sli Na Fiarana (14/1) in third and fourth respectively.

Bill Farrell said: “He did it nicely and Dusty is the right man for him. The ground suited as he doesn't want it too fast. He was in good form and had a break in the summer. That'll be him for the year.”
