Jockeys' championship leader Billy Lee gave Midnight Dusk a positive ride at the head of affairs to take Fairyhouse's three-year-old handicap over six furlongs.

Lee asked the Havana Grey colt for an effort a furlong-and-a-half down and the 13/2 shot kept on well in the closing stages as Nakamura finished off strongly to get within half-a-length at the line.

Owned by Donnchadh Doyle, Midnight Dusk had disappointed slightly when favourite at Naas last month and winning trainer Jack Foley, narrowly denied in the opener with Just For Show, said "He's a horse that we always thought plenty of. It was probably my own fault running him back a bit quick the last day.

“It worked out today grand. We freshened him up.

“We’ll see what’s coming up now, it was nice to get his head back in front.

“Hopefully there is a big one in him, we’ve always thought plenty of him. It was a good confidence boost for him today.”
