Fontwell goes ahead This afternoon's meeting at Fontwell will go ahead as planned after passing a 9.45am inspection. Temperatures dropped to minus 2C early in the morning and while the track was always raceable, clerk of the course Ed Arkell was being cautious ahead of the sun coming up, which is when conditions tend to be coldest. Thankfully, temperatures are on the rise and by the time of the inspection it was well above freezing. The track tweeted: "Racing goes ahead. Currently 2.5C and rising quickly. Soft, good to soft in places."
