Gris Majeur completed a treble on the card for Denise Foster at Downpatrick today when running out an impressive winner of the concluding bumper.

The 11/4 shot (8/1 this morning) had won a point-to-point on his debut at Fairyhouse in April but was well beaten in a Down Royal bumper the following month.

He left that form well behind, on his first outing for Cullentra today, as the grey swooped around his rivals to lead a furlong-and-a-half from home.

Jamie Codd kept his mount going with 'hands and heels' up the hill to record a comprehensive 13-length success over long-time leader Rightful Mind

Codd said: "We got him there after the point-to-point season, he ran in a bumper for Ian Ferguson.

"He has settled into the routine very well and his work had been very good at home. He won a point-to-point at Fairyhouse and for this time of the year he is a bit better than them.

"The ground is beautiful here; they did a great job. He handled that fine but I imagine he will go on a bit softer ground."
