Foundation set for Craven return Leading Derby contender Foundation will make his seasonal reappearance in the Novae Bloodstock Insurance Craven Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday. John Gosden's colt made a big impression in winning his first three starts as a juvenile, completing the hat-trick with a stylish display in the Royal Lodge. He suffered defeat for the first time when beaten into third in a steadily-run Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster, but remains a best-priced 12-1 for the Epsom Classic on June 4. Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, said: " We're very much looking forward to seeing him back in action. "He's very well and the intention is to run in the Craven." Foundation also holds an entry in the 2000 Guineas and his performance on Thursday will likely decide whether he returns to the Rowley Mile at the end of the month. "It will be a good starting point for him and will hopefully tell us a bit more about what type of horse he's going to be," said Herbert.
