Fourteen In Dewhurst Frame

All the leading contenders for the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday have stood their ground.

Jim Bolger's unbeaten New Approach, the John Gosden-trained Raven's Pass and Godolphin's Rio De La Plata are among 14 entries for the end-of-season juvenile championship, with Paul Cole responsible for Luck Money and the supplemented Moynahan.

Mark Johnston's McCartney, Goffs Million winner Luck Money and impressive Acomb scorer Fast Company are also engaged.

Those to have been withdrawn include the unbeaten Bruges, the injured Winker Watson and Cheveley Park winner Natagora.

The field is completed by four Ballydoyle challengers ? Achilles Of Troy, Greatwallofchina, Great Rumpuscat and Magna Cum Laude ? Gay Kelleway's Dubai Meydan, Middle Park winner Dark Angel and the Mick Channon-trained Hatta Fort.

Cole has been happy with the preparations of both Luck Money and Moynahan, but admits it is a big step up in class for the latter, who only has a victory in a maiden to his name.

'They will have a pipe-opener on Tuesday and if all is satisfactory, both of them will take their chance,' Cole told www.newmarketracecourses.co.uk.

'It is a bit of a step up in class for Moynahan but he quickened up well at York and has been working well at home.

'Both he and Luck Money are in good form. Luck Money has come out very well from his race in Ireland. I am hoping for good ground.'

New Approach has been installed as the 7-4 favourite by William Hill, ahead of Raven's Pass at 11-4.
