Rock On Seamie got off the mark over jumps today at Navan, recorded a fourth career win in the Bar One Racing Multiples Ladies Handicap Hurdle for owner/trainer Ray Hackett and jockey Aine O'Connor.

The son of Lilbourne Lad had previously won three times on the flat and today, at the 14th attempt, gained a first hurdles win, staying on well to hold fast-finishing Nibiru by half a length.

Afterwards Nenagh based Hackett stated “he's good and consistent, is-what-he-is and has been knocking on the door over hurdles so it's great to finally win one.

“Aine's 5lb in those races is very valuable. I thought she gave him a fantastic ride, when they quickened she sat and waited, didn't get involved, gave him a chance and he came home strong.”

He added “we ran him over a bit further before so we weren't worried about the fact that it was a stiff two miles here, we were pretty sure he'd see it out well and she rode him like that.

“He'll probably get an entry for the Friday or Saturday at Listowel and all going well he'll go there.”
