Fracas Primed For The Fight

David Wachman has high hopes that Fracas will put up a bold show when he becomes the trainer´s first Vodafone Derby runner at Epsom tomorrow.

The County Tipperary-based handler has already launched one successful raid on Britain with the son of In The Wings, when he came over to claim the Sandown Classic Trial.

Fracas followed up in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown last month and Wachman is looking forward to seeing how the colt will handle the leap to Group One level.

'He´s fine, everything has gone to plan,' he said.

'He´s done everything we´ve asked of him so far but we will see tomorrow whether he can make the step up to this level.

'He seems a well-balanced horse but we won´t really know if he can handle the track until he tries.'

Wachman is seeking a first Classic success, although he came very close when Indesatchel was runner-up to Shamardal in the French 2000 Guineas last month.

He added: 'We are lucky to have a horse good enough to run in the Derby and hopefully we will find a few more over the years to come.'
