Frankel filly Bona Fide justifies favouritism on debut Bona Fide, a daughter of Frankel, got the job done at the first time of asking in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Gowran. Declan McDonogh's mount got a good run up the inner from over a furlong out as some of Bona Fide's rivals got in a bit of a muddle. For Gerry and Colin Keane Laughifuwant ran a stormer on debut but he couldn't quite get to Khalid Abdullah and Dermot Weld's winner, going down by half a length. Weld also had the third home, Alanna 'A Leanbh. "She battled well for a filly having her first run. It was a good strong ride by Declan," said Weld. K.J. Manning, rider of Take A Nap trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he was forced to sit and suffer half a furlong from home. (AM & EM)
