Frankel wintering well Henry Cecil is keeping Frankel on the go despite the big freeze. The trainer told At The Races: "He (Frankel) probably just trotted about three-and-a-half miles this morning and walked about three and he'll do that until the weather changes." And the Newmarket trainer has high hopes that the best has yet to be seen of the unbeaten colt who ended the season as the joint-top rated juvenile with Dream Ahead on the European Pattern. "I don't think he's just a two year old, he's quite immature and he's got plenty of size and scope and I think he's growing. He'll strengthen during the winter and, hopefully, just mentally grow up a little bit too and become more of a professional. I would be very surprised if he wasn't (more than just a two-year old)," he added. The 2000 Guineas is the obvious early season big-race target but Cecil has consistently raised doubts about his ability to see out the mile-and-a-half of the Derby despite being by Galileo. "I've always had my doubts as to whether he'll actually get the Derby trip although he's by a Sadler's Wells horse, Galileo, he's out of a fast family and is quite precocious in a lot of ways. I think he'd have to grow up an awful lot to stay much further than a mile, he might get a mile and a quarter one day but I'd question whether he'd get further than that even as a four year old." Frankel was not the only juvenile from Warren Place to attract the public's imagination last season with plenty of rumours abounding surrounding the potential of the unraced World Domination but Cecil was quick to play down the hype. "Out of 50 something two-year-olds, I don't think we ran more than about ten. They were very immature and there were teething problems - there are probably about 12-14 colts which I like very much and any one of those including World Domination could make into a very nice horse. "I don't think he's the only one, he's done no real work and I think it's jumping the gun a bit whoever's putting rumours around he's better than Frankel and that sort of thing. Time will tell and I'd have to be very lucky if he was as good." Cecil did reveal a tweak in his jockey pecking order with Ian Mongan riding as number two to Tom Queally. "I like having my own jockey, we get to know each other and get to know the horses, it works far more like a team," the trainer said. "I've got a very good one and Ian Mongan next year will be second jockey now that Eddie Ahern has got a retainer with Ed Dunlop. Eddie will ride for us but I want continuity. "Ian Mongan, I always said, was a very underrated jockey, rides very well, strong, always in the right position and he's a worker and I think with better rides, he will do very well."
