Freddie Ready For Molecomb

Fast Freddie returns to action in the Betfair Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood tomorrow after being off the track for almost four months through injury.

The two-year-old has not been seen since early April, when he was third in the second of his two runs at Lingfield.

He hurt himself while being prepared for the Lily Agnes Stakes at Chester in May but is reported to be back to full fitness.

'He had an accident at home on the run-up to Chester. He had a nasty cut in his upper thigh that required stitches,' said trainer Tim Pitt.

However, Pitt is hopeful Fast Freddie can live up his name in the Group Three dash over five furlongs.

'He's up against it tomorrow, but he's a quick gelding and it is the Molecomb,' added the Bawtry handler.

'He goes there with a nice each-way squeak.'

Newmarket trainer Jeremy Noseda will be double-handed in the two-year-old feature with recent Sandown Listed race winner Bahama Mama and Winning Spirit, successful in a Redcar maiden on his last outing.

Noseda said: 'Bahama Mama won a Listed race well on her last start and is suited by five furlongs.

'She should definitely be competitive.

'We have given Winning Spirit a break since winning his maiden and he has been targeted at the Molecomb since his victory.

'I feel he will be suited by the sharp five furlongs at Goodwood.'
