The front-running 2/5 favourite La Joconde wasn’t getting away from her pursuers turning for home in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies’ Maiden and she was headed a furlong out by French Fusion (3/1).

The latter, making a quick reappearance having run third over 7f at Leopardstown on Saturday, went away up the hill to score by four lengths in the hands of Kevin Manning.

The daughter of Harzand was getting off the mark on her third outing and trainer Jim Bolger’s juveniles are in sparkling form after winning two Group races over the weekend.

The wining rider’s wife Una said: “We’re delighted with her. She ran a good race in Leopardstown and though we were obviously respecting the favourite we were happy with our one coming here

“She’s a first venture into ownership for Clare (daughter, joint owner with Jacqui Bolger) so we’re all happy.”
