French option for Now Or Never Now Or Never could bid for Classic glory in the French 1000 Guineas following her encouraging return to action at Leopardstown. The daughter of Bushranger showed some high-class form as a juvenile, impressing at Galway before chasing home smart colt Herald The Dawn in the Futurity Stakes at the Curragh. She disappointed on her final start of 2015 in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, but got her career back on track when runner-up in the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas trial on Sunday. Trainer Michael O'Callaghan said: "She ran a cracker. I was very happy with her. "From seeing her work at home and knowing how much she had done, I thought she'd benefit from the run and I'm sure she will improve. "She might go to the French Guineas now, which is at Chantilly this year over a straight mile. "She's likely to get the cut in the ground she wants out there. She does have a knee action and she wouldn't want ground better than good." Stablemate Blue De Vega has not been seen in competitive action since slamming his rivals in the Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown in October. The Curragh-based trainer is working hard to ensure his charge is in peak condition for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket at the end of this month. "Everything is good. He had a racecourse gallop at Leopardstown last week and I was happy," said O'Callaghan. "If he is going to go to Newmarket, he will have to be 110 per cent. If he's any less than that he won't go, but he's on track at the moment."
