The Henry De Bromhead trained Double Speak landed the concluding Killarney Welcomes Bordeaux Racecourse Flat Race at Killarney today, scoring a first Irish winner for prolific French winning amateur jockey Jean Philippe Boisgontier.

Three French riders had been invited to ride in the race and indeed the pace of the race was set by the much experienced Boisgontier, the winner of 181 races, who made all and kept the gelding going for a three lengths win over Drumrue.

Afterwards De Bromhead stated “Jean Philippe gave him a super ride and I'm delighted for the lads who bought him recently - Martin Baker, Matthew Waters and Brian Donlon.

“He was impressive today and jumps great so there is plenty to look forward to. He is tough and galloped away to the line today.”
