French star on course for Cheveley Park Unbeaten French filly Vorda could contest the Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes after her next assignment at Deauville. There is a strong entry of 56 for the Group One at Newmarket on September 27, with Philippe Sogorb's juvenile standing out after she stretched her unbeaten record to three in last weekend's Prix Robert Papin. Sogorb, who recently stopped riding to concentrate on his training career, said: "She has recovered marvellously from Sunday's race. "She has eaten well and was not at all stiff when I rode her myself on Tuesday morning. "She will go for the Prix Morny next (August 18) and then there is a better than 50% chance that she will go to Newmarket. She has an alternative at Longchamp, but that is over seven furlongs which may be too far. "She is a very mature and intelligent filly and, although she is adaptable, she has lots of speed. So, at the moment six furlongs is perfect for her but she might stay further in time - it is too early to say." Reflecting on his new career, he said: "I am very happy to have such a fantastic horse in my first season as a trainer - some people have to wait years to find a horse good enough to run in races like the Cheveley Park." Charlie Hills' Kiyoshi, who won the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, is entered in both the Shadwell Fillies' Mile and the Cheveley Park. "She has come out of Royal Ascot perfectly but we haven't really worked her since," Hills said. "We are just giving her time. "Everything is working back from next year's QIPCO 1000 Guineas and the Fillies' Mile is an obvious race for her. "The main target is to make sure that she becomes a Group One winner this year and the Fillies' Mile would be a great race to win." "She was so mightily impressive over six furlongs at Ascot, it (Cheveley Park) is just an option. But the way that she is bred suggests that she will be better over further." The entries were also announced for Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes, which has attracted an 11-strong entry from France with the prize going across the Channel for the last four years. Among the French representatives are Freddie Head's star mare Moonlight Cloud, as well as British and Irish challengers like Sky Lantern, Elusive Kate, Duntle and Sea Siren.
