From Foxrock to Dubai for Top Notch Tonto Brian Ellison is thinking of sending his stable star Top Notch Tonto to Dubai this winter. The five-year-old has amassed nearly £500,000 in prize money and has bounced right back to his best of late. He won a Listed race at York over a mile back in June and was just touched off by Tulius over an extended 10 furlongs in the Group Two York Stakes. Last weekend he was second to Custom Cut in the Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown, a race in which he was fourth 12 months ago. "He'll probably be suited by stepping back up to a mile and a quarter, but it was still a great run. It was a Group Two race and he finished second. He's been a brilliant horse for us," Ellison said. "I don't think he wants it as soft as what people think nowadays. As long as there's a bit of juice in the ground he's happy, as long as it's not firm. "He got the trip of a mile and a quarter and a bit really well at York and the form worked out really well, so we'll be stepping him back up. "I think it took him a while to get over the QEII (of 2013 when second) but he's back now, his last four runs have proved that, and it's (QEII) an option if it came up soft. "I think we might travel this year. We might go to Dubai and look for big money prizes." When asked if he had a specific target in mind, Ellison replied with a smile: " The World Cup? He stays doesn't he."
