Further overnight rain at Ballinrobe The going is sure to be testing at Ballinrobe where a two-day meeting gets underway this evening, and the first on a seven-race mixed card commences at 5.25pm. A further 9mm of rain overnight has left the ground heavy at the western venue, while there is the prospect of more showers over the next few days some of which could be prolonged and heavy. The provisional going at declaration time yesterday morning was yielding on the National Hunt course, and soft on the Flat course. Top riders under both codes will be in the saddle at Ballinrobe this evening, with the likes of Ruby Walsh and Barry Geraghty over jumps and Joseph O'Brien and Pat Smullen on the level.
