Fuschia scores at odds on

The opening race of the day at Limerick, the Supermacs Dooradoyle Mares Maiden Hurdle went to the Jessica Harrington trained Fuschia Belle with Robbie Power in the saddle.

The daughter of Presenting was the clear form pick, having won her bumper here in July of last year before running a cracker to finish second to the smart Whatwillwecallher, in a bumper at the Punchestown Festival.

The winner was sent off the well backed 4/7fav and as the market suggested her main danger was Phoenix Rose at 9/2. The pair had a titanic battle up the home straight, with the winner making a mistake at the last, but she still managed to pull out more to keep favourite backers happy.

The winning owner Eamonn Phelan said afterwards, "Jessica is in the Curragh. That‘s her second win around here, she won her bumper here as well.

"We brought her to the sales but we couldn't find an owner for her. She is well bred and is a half-sister to Mr Cracker.

"She would have been an unlucky loser. She will improve a lot for this and we will take it from here."
