Jordan Gainford doubled up on his return to action at Kilbeggan this evening when Ginnets Girl ran out a game winner of the Mullingar Maiden Hurdle.

The Gordon Elliott-trained mare had been placed five times over hurdles and went to post a 3/1 shot into tonight's three-mile-one contest.

She tracked the leaders and came with a strong surge on the run-in to wear down front-runner Camino Rock to secure a hard fought length success.

Assistant Lisa O'Neill said afterwards:- “She's done it really well and Jordan has given her a lovely ride. It's fantastic for Jordan, it's a really good start after coming back from injury.

“She's a really genuine mare and the step up in trip has really played to her assets today. She has a great bunch of owners as well and they're after getting a good kick out of it.

“Jordan always had her in a lovely position and she doesn't mind the rain that's after falling either. Hopefully that'll do her confidence good and she might be able to go on and pick up a few more.”
