Galileo Gold flying ahead of Deauville Galileo Gold is on target for the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville on Sunday after working "brilliantly" on Tuesday morning, his owners confirmed. Hugo Palmer's 2000 Guineas hero was beaten by Awtaad when chasing the Classic double in the Irish Guineas, but reversed that form to lift the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He came off second best in a rematch with Ascot runner-up The Gurkha in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last month, but is reported firing on all cylinders ahead of his latest assignment. Owners Al Shaqab Racing posted on Twitter: "Galileo Gold works brilliantly ahead of the Prix du Haras de Fresnay Le Buffard Jaques Le Marois (Gr 1). All systems go for Sunday!"
