The Aidan O'Brien trained Galveston won his second race at this track when galloping on powerfully to land the ALTO EQUINE Building Solutions Rated Race at Naas.

A beaten favourite on his racecourse debut at the Curragh last September, the Frankel colt stepped forward to win his maiden at this track next time out.

Following a similar pattern this time round, the colt was beaten on his return at Leopardstown in March, before taking a significant leap to land this tightly contested race.

Pushed along to lead after a couple of furlongs, Wayne Lordan made the rest of the running on the 7/2 chance. Strongly pressed by market leader Heather from over a furlong out, Galveston found plenty to stay on for a one-and-three-quarter length win.

“He’s a hardy horse and he’ll stay further,” said Aidan O’Brien.

“He’s lazy, that’s why we put the blinkers on him to wake him up. Wayne gave him a very good ride, he let him rock along.

“Wayne said he will stay further. We’ll see what they want to do with him but he’s a hardy boy and there is more in there.

“That was a conditions so he’ll have to go to a stakes race now. He could go to something like the Gallinule.”
