Galway Festival firsts for Murray and Mulligan Talented apprentice Rory Mulligan gained his first Galway Festival Success onboard Oristown Boy (15/2) in the Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden, over seven furlongs. The two-year-old son of Inns Of Court broke smartly from stall five and led until three furlongs when happy to forego the advantage. Well positioned, Joseph Murray’s charge was pushed along and picked up the lead over a furlong out from the favourite Seaxburh. Always doing enough close home, Oristown Boy held off the staying on Whosinterviewinwho for a three-quarters of a length victory. "I'm delighted to get one at the Galway Festival. Joey looked after me when I was younger, so it's good. I used to ride plenty of work for him when I was only 15. It's nice to pay him back a bit. “Galway is special, some atmosphere now. I didn't have much luck all week so it's nice to sign off with a winner,” enthused winning jockey Rory Mulligan. "He jumped really well from the gates. The last couple of times he had been slow away so I made sure to ask him. I knew Dylan would want to go forward, so I gave him a chance to move up on my inside. Once I got sitting half down on him, I was happy I was kind of able to dictate it a little bit. “My lad stays 7f really well and he'll even be better over a mile I think.
