Galway Festival traffic plan Motorists heading to Galway races using the new M6 must enter the racecourse using the tunnel entrance. If you wish to use the avenue entrance (weighroom) you must exit the M6 at junction 19 and follow signs for the Blue Avenue Route. This goes past the Airport. During the week at Galway, motorists coming out of the city wishing to use the avenue entrance must head onto the Tuam road and turn right up the hill at Killeen Cross.
