Galway Races documentary on TG4 Sunday A specially commissioned four-part documentary series for TG4 entitled “SEACHTAIN NA RASAÍ”, providing a unique insight into the seven-day 2014 Galway Races, will be shown on the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. The first episode will air tomorrow Sunday, 30th November at 21.30 and each episode will be repeated on the following Monday evening at 19.30. “SEACHTAIN NA RASAÍ” has been produced by Touchline Media and directed by Luke McManus, the team behind the popular Channel 4 and TG4 “Jump Boys” and “Arkle” documentaries. “SEACHTAIN NA RASAÍ” offers a behind the scenes perspective of one of the world’s most successful racing festivals and follows the principal characters at the 2014 Galway Races. These include John Moloney, racecourse manager; Dermot Weld, the 28-times leading trainer at the Galway Races; Champion flat jockey Pat Smullen; Champion amateur jockey Patrick Mullins; Galway Plate winning jockey Shane Shortall; apprentice jockey Kate O’Brien; Bookmaker John Mulholland; racecourse commentator, Dessie Scahill and racecourse photographer, Pat Healy. “SEACHTAIN NA RASAÍ” also examines many of the other aspects of the Galway Races including the hugely popular ladies day, the considerable benefit to the Galway economy and the Garda planning for this massive event. “The Galway Races are the jewel in the crown of Irish racing and for many, the undoubted highlight of an Irish summer.
