Gangsta Man (5/1) registered a second success at Gowran today, landing the Golf At Gowran Park Handicap for trainer Kevin Smith and in-form jockey Wesley Joyce.

By stallion Dandy Man and out of Gasta, the €2,000 yearling purchase had previously scored at Roscommon in May and today raced prominently throughout, before battling well for a neck defeat of runner-up Washington Street .

It was Joyce’s third win in eight days and Smith stated “Gangsta Man has been a bit unlucky in a couple of his runs and probably deserved it.

“He had a nice draw over seven here and got the luck in running, sat in the box seat and it worked out to plan.

“The plan was to bring him to the horse-in-training sales in Newmarket and I don’t know if he’ll run again between now and then.”
