Garden Of Eden blossomed up in trip at Naas this afternoon when running out a game winner of the Darley Irish EBF Naas Oaks Trial for Aidan O’Brien.

The Saxon Warrior filly had been sixth in a Group 3 event at the Curragh just five days ago and went to post a 6/1 shot in today’s Listed contest.

Ben Coen, riding his first winner for Ballydoyle, got a good run up the rail on his mount to bag a narrow lead passing the furlong pole and she stuck on well in the closing stages to post a length win over Jaliyah

“Obviously I was running her over the wrong trip, she wanted to go further,” said O’Brien.

“Saxon Warrior is doing very well and obviously they are middle distance horses, a mile-and-a-quarter and Ben even said she’d get a mile-and-a-half. He gave her a very good ride.

“She ran well the last day, she kind of dropped out and then came back into it again. She stays very well obviously. She has a little bit of class and I’d say she loved the ground.

“All those races are open to her now, she’s in that picture now.”
