Genesis produced a game front-running performance to land the finale at the Curragh this afternoon for Mick Mulvany.

The Prince Of Lir gelding was at the head of affairs throughout in the six furlong contest. He had Reposado for company all the way and the pair battled it out in the closing stages.

Genesis just found a bit more late on to secure a half-length success.

The 8/1 winner, backed from 28/1 this morning, was recording his third career victory and his second since joining Mulvany last year.

"He's a very fast horse. He had loads of problems but we have them ironed out I think,” said Mulvany.

“We'd be hoping that he goes on and, improves now. The secret to him is good ground. He actually wants it a little bit faster than it was out there.

“I only inherited him last year and, he had his problems as I said. It's great to get him back as he has plenty of ability and, hopefully along the way we'll get it out of him."
