Willie McCreery believes a drop back to six furlongs on rain-softened ground will be optimum conditions for Germanese in the Listed Darley Irish EBF Brigid's Pastures Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

The Night Of Thunder filly shed her maiden tag at Fairyhouse in June before running fifth in Listed class at the Galway Festival.

She was last seen finishing down the field in a Group 3 over an extended seven-furlongs at Tipperary in August.

McCreery said: "Germanese goes for the Listed race and the more rain the better.

"She ran disappointingly in Tipperary, probably too far.

"She will love the ground and the six furlongs will suit her in the Curragh."
