Seven year old mare Getaway Queen registered a seventh career win at Dundalk today, landing the Leading Jockey & Trainer Apprentice Handicap (div II) for trainer Ken Budds and jockey Luke McAteer.

Carrying the colours of Cork's 1999 Hurling All-Ireland-winning captain Mark Landers, the daughter of Getaway beat Fryerns by a length and a half, notching a fifth flat success, having also won twice over hurdles, the latest being at Wexford in July.

Following today's race trainer Budds said “I don't know what happened the last day, it was just one of those days. I got her scoped afterwards and everything was right, she worked the other day and worked great.

“This was the only race for her, I know it was two furlongs shorter but I wasn't worried as she ran well over the trip here before. I'm surprised how well she won.

“You are always guaranteed the ground here, once they go on it. She's fabulous, that's seven wins now and she's flying. It would be great to have a yard of horses like her.”
