Glenquest is in contention for the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock on Saturday.

Trainer Stuart Crawford is, however, also considering the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster on Saturday week.

The 12-year-old looked the winner jumping the last of the Welsh National, only to fade into third.

"He's in the Peter Marsh and also in the Sky Bet Chase the following week," said the County Antrim handler.

"The Sky Bet was the race I've had in mind for him as, time-wise, it just fits in better after the Welsh National, but he has come out of Chepstow well.

"The thing about the race on Saturday is the conditions will suit him really well, so we'll see how he is in the next couple of days and keep an eye on things."

Crawford has also entered Man With Van but the nine-year-old has several other options during the week.

Global Power could run in the Grade Two at Haydock after a foot problem ruled him out of the Classic Chase at Warwick.

Oliver Sherwood's nine-year-old was quietly fancied by connections, but he suffered a late setback and had to miss the marathon handicap, won by Hawkes Point.

With Theatrical Star, who narrowly beat Global Power at Fontwell in December, finishing second in the Classic Chase, Sherwood is convinced his charge would have gone close.

The Upper Lambourn handler has, however, stressed he is not yet a definite runner on Merseyside.

"He just had a bruised foot, it was very boring but nothing serious," said Sherwood.

"It's a tentative entry at this stage, I haven't talked it through with the owners.

"If he's in the handicap or not too far out I would love to run him.

"Seeing Theatrical Star run so well rubbed salt into the wounds as we were better off with him (at the weights) from Fontwell."

Others in an entry of 18 include Benbens, Corrin Wood, Godsmejudge, Cedre Bleu, Hey Big Spender, No Planning, Vintage Star and Toby Lerone.
