Global glory for Goffs Goffs Orby Sale is a renowned source of success around the globe and Sunday was another great example with the victory of Military Attack in the Group 1 Singapore Airlines International Cup at Kranji followed by Annaboda’s win the Danish 1000 Guineas and Stakes success for Voleuse De Coeurs at Navan. Trained in Hong Kong by John Moore for owner Steven Lo, Military Attack was taking his third Group 1 this year and did so in spectacular style as jockey Zac Purton kicked for home early in the straight and stormed clear to win unchallenged by 3 ¼ lengths. Formerly trained in Britain by John Hills where he won three races under the name Rave, Military Attack won the Group 1 QEII Cup and Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup earlier this season. The five year old son of Oratorio was sold at Goffs Orby Sale 2009 by Moortown House Stud to Amanda Skiffington and John Hills for €40,000. Goffs graduates have an excellent record in Scandinavia and today at Klampenborg the Danish 1000 Guineas went to Orby Sale purchase Annaboda who led a Classic 1-2 for trainer Soren Jensen. The Duke Of Marmalade filly was sold at the 2011 Orby by breeder Mrs Mary Rose Hayes from Pheopotstown Stud to Seeland International for €45,000. Success for the Orby Sale continued at Navan where the Dermot Weld trained and Lady O’Reilly owned Voleuse De Coeur, ten length winner of the Irish Cesarewitch last season, took the Listed Coolmore Vintage Crop Stakes in convincing style – a race won in recent years by Fame And Glory and Yeats. The Curragh Cup and Irish St Leger could be on the cards for the daughter of Teofilo who was sold at the 2010 Orby Sale by the Irish National Stud to Skymarc International for €40,000.
