Godolphin Happy With Top Cat

Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile favourite Discreet Cat will be suited by the sharp Monmouth Park track tonight, according to his trainer Saeed Bin Suroor.

Bin Suroor watched the much-talked-about four-year-old colt canter over a mile and a quarter on the dirt and was pleased with what he saw.

He said: 'I'm sure he's improved from his last race at Belmont and that he has a great chance.

'He'll be favourite and will handle the track very well. He's been working like the six-furlong horse he was in Dubai.'

Discreet Cat started a warm order for the Dubai World Cup in March but was eclipsed in that Nad Al Sheba contest, finishing last.

His trainer added: 'We found he had an abscess on his throat and after the race he lost a lot of condition.

'He needed his race the other day and even though he faces a tough task, we're much happier with him now.

'He's in the same form as he was before the Cigar Mile in Aqueduct last November.'
